Healthy Sex Centers ( CHS ) is a community therapy center in Los Angeles specializing in the treatment of sexual dysfunction, sexual anorexia, sex addiction and love addiction. The center is located on Santa Monica Boulevard near Overland Avenue bordering the Century and Westwood neighborhoods.
Clients participate in the various programs, online courses and social services offered at the Healthy Sex Center - from weekly support groups, sex partner therapies and the 11-day Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to online classes, free lectures, and podcasts.
At the end of each year, the Center for Healthy Sex announces the highest annual Annual/Sexual Sex List highlighting the highest and lowest of sexual cultures, published by Huffington Post and Psychology Today. In 2011, Center for Healthy Sex partnered with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to produce special screening of Shame (film 2011) in American Cinematheque followed by a panel of sex experts including Alexandra Katehakis, Ethlie Ann Vare and Chris Donaghue host of Bad Sex ,) and sex addicts from Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, Sex Addicts Anonymous and Sexual Compulsives Anonymous. The Health Center also participates in screenings and panel discussions for the movie Thank You To Share with co-author Matt Winston.

History
The Center for Healthy Sex was co-founded by Alexandra Katehakis, PhD, MFT, CST-S, CSAT-S, and Douglas Evans in 2005. Their mission is to offer men, women, and spouses a safe place to receive professional psychotherapy to resolve shame, guilt, fraud, or other barriers to healthy eroticism.
Alexandra Katehakis serves as a Clinical Director, bringing the Center for Healthy Sex a special focus in treating dysregulating affects, the result of an in-depth study of attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology as a member of the Allan Schore study group since 2006. Alex Katehakis is a licensee of Marriage and Family Therapist, Expert Therapeutic and Supervisors Certified Sex Therapies, Therapists and Certified Sex Supervisors, and trained practitioners from Desensitization and Eye Recovery (EMDR) Movement. Alex Katehakis became certified as a sex addiction therapist by Patrick Carnes, Ph.D., and worked at the Sexual Recovery Institute for eight years where he served as Clinical Controller for two years before opening the Healthy Sex Center. He is the author of Erotic Intelligence: Triggering Hot Sex, Healthy While in Recovery from Sex Addiction and Sexual Addiction as Affect Dysregulation. He is also one of the authors > Leveraging Progress: A Comprehensive Guide to Treating Female Sex and Love Addiction and Mirror Intimacy: Daily Reflection on Emotional and Erotic Intelligence.
Douglas Evans serves as Executive Director of the Healthy Sex Center, responsible for all aspects of business development. He graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Psychology and Marketing, and has served as a Volunteer Advisor at the Southern California Counseling Center, and studied Spiritual Psychology at Santa Monica University. According to her bio, she is "committed to supporting CHS as a leading provider of mental health services for the community and education for professionals."
Healthy Sex Center employs a team of professional counselors. The clinical team consists of Marriage and Family Therapists, Certified Sex Dependence Therapists, and Certified Sex Therapists who oversee the Center's programs and services while providing sex therapy and sex addiction therapy to clients.

Programs and services
The Healthcare Center develops and hosts a variety of programs that are open to the public that provide educational opportunities for therapists, clients, and anyone interested in developing further sexual relationship and intimacy skills. These include:
- Free Podcasts: lectures and interviews on various topics including sex addiction, sex therapy, sexual anorexia, human sexuality, sexual activity and human intimacy.
- Free Daily Meditation: daily quotes, meditation, and email-accepted duties for people interested in developing emotional and sexual intimacy.
- Free CEU lecture series: The center offers free monthly lectures with continuing education units for sex therapists and sex addiction therapists on various topics of sexuality.
- Free online test: Internet Sex Addiction Test, Love Addiction Test, Male Sex Addiction Test, and Women's Addiction Sex Test.
- Online classes: The center offers 12-week online classes including Shadow Encounter by book by Patrick Carnes, Facing Heartbreak based on Carnes, Lee and Rodriguez's book, Facing Love Addiction based on Pia Mellody's book, and Ready to Heal based on Kelly McDaniel's book.
The Healthy Sex Center is a continuing education provider licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and AASECT approved continuing education provider. CHS provides comprehensive social services including:
- Group Therapy: The Center offers weekly groups including the Sex Male Dependency Treatment Group, the Porn Male Dependency Treatment Group, the Trauma Couple Partner Group, and the Women Intimacy Group.
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): A deep and intensive 11-day intensive sex therapy program aimed at individuals who need to stop the compulsive sexual patterns that cause major disruptions in their lives. CHS also provides an intensive 6-day Partner Relations Trauma for couples of sex addicts.
- Individual Therapy: Psychotherapy with trained sex therapist or sex addiction therapist to help relieve various problems, both physical and emotional, including painful intercourse, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, sexual addiction, lack of sexual desire, negative sexual attitude due to trauma psychological, and stress and/or anxiety about sexual performance.
- Couples Sex Therapy: A team of trained sex therapists helps couples to overcome problems with sexual arousal, genital function, lack of intimacy, sexual satisfaction, and differences in desire for sex.
- Sexual Addiction Treatment Training: An 18-hour training program for six classes for those interested in treating sex addiction.
- Sex Therapy Training: An 18-hour training program for six classes for those interested in sex therapy.
