Sexaholics Anonymous ( SA ) is one of several 12-step programs for compulsive sexual acts based on the original Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. SA takes place among the various groups of twelve steps seeking recovery from sexual addiction: Sex Addicts Anonymous, Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, Anonymous Sexual Compulsual and Anonymous Sexual Recovery. Collectively these groups are referred to as the "S" group because all of their acronyms start with that letter: SA, SAA, SLAA, SCA, SRA.
SA helps restore "sexaholics." According to the group, a sexaholic is someone to whom "lust has become addicted." SA distinguishes itself from other S groups by defining sexual equanimity as having no sex with oneself or with a partner other than with one's spouse "in marriage between a man and a woman", and a progressive victory over lust.
"In defining tranquility, we are not talking to people outside of Sexaholics Anonymous.We can only speak for ourselves.So, for sexaholic marriage, sexual calm means to have no form of sex with oneself or with anyone other than a spouse. unmarried sexaholic, sexual calm means freedom from any sex, and for all of us, single and married, sexual peace also includes a progressive victory over lust. The group uses the Alcoholics Anonymous Ledger and the book "Sexaholics Anonymous" (often referred to as "The White Book") as a guide. History

As early as 1991 Roy wrote for an alliance of same-sex. The problem came again in the late 1990s. A survey was conducted, reaching out to individual meetings through regional councils and local Intergroups. Most respondents felt that the definition of tranquility required no clarification. The agitation of this problem continues because of the perception that the ambiguous nature of survey questions makes the result meaningless. The Chairman of the SA Delegation Assembly summarized this ambiguity: "I accept conflicting opinions about the meaning of the January 1999 vote that we do not need to clarify the definition of serenity SA Many (probably most) believe this sound means that we are clear about the traditional meaning of SA serenity and not there is further clarification required. On July 9, 1999, the General Assembly Assembly, meeting at an international conference in Cleveland, unanimously voted (9-0) to clarify the definition of "spouse" to be "a couple in marriage between a man and a woman." This is known as Cleveland Clarification or Cleveland Principle Statement. It is highly accepted by membership in groups, between groups and at regional level. In 2000, fellow SA members interested in same-sex expressed their support for Cleveland Clarification in a letter to the SA Delegate and Trustee signed by 66 members from 7 countries. Prospective members in the SA Board of Trustees, are now required to affirm the Definition of SA Tranquility including Clarification of Cleveland.
This controversy continues to circulate in fellowship. General Delegate Assembly (GDA) "is the SA's policy-making body." Each Delegate is free to submit a proposal in the GDA to debate the definition of SA serenity. The SA conference is about recovery, not to debate policy issues like the definition of tranquility. In July 2016, the Assembly of the General Delegation of the SA (GDA) passed a movement that deepened the Cleveland Statement of Principles in 1999: "In the definition of serenity SA, the term" spouse "refers to a person's spouse in a marriage between a man and a man. woman ". At the 2007 SA International Convention 2007, a survey was conducted on 176 SA members. Literature
SA fully accepts all literatures that are universally agreed upon for approval in SA meetings, and SA groups often read from the AA literature in their own meetings. SA is very close to the AA model, applying all AA principles to sexual desire and addiction, and while other members of other S-groups define calmness for themselves, SA is closer to AA in proposing an understanding of calm that requires abstinence and common to group.

Proponents
Since the definition of serenity has a clear root in Western and Eastern morality, it has great appeal to Hindus, Christians, Protestants, Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholics, religious Jews, secular Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists, and agnostics.
Criticism
A psychologist involved in the treatment of sexual addiction, Patrick Carnes, encourages peace of mind in his writings, saying that the no-masturbation definition of tranquility is only appropriate for some sex addicts and that the bottom line can in fact be modified from time to time. Joe Kort criticized SA for his pro-heterosexual marriage.
However, founder Roy K. knew earlier that this is a controversial subject and often writes letters from the perspective of the opponent.
