The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is an addiction care and advocacy organization created in 2014 with the incorporation of the Minnesota Hazelden Foundation and Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California in the United States.
Organizations have a long history together. Hazelden was founded in 1949, and Betty Ford himself visited Minnesota headquarters in 1982 when he planned to open a facility at Rancho Mirage.
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation bases its residential and outpatient services with the Twelve Step treatment model, which is based on abstinence for individuals with alcoholism and other drugs.
The foundation also includes the country's largest addiction and recovering publication, a fully accredited addictive graduate study school, an addiction research center, preventive training and an education body for medical professionals, family members and other loved ones, as well as children's programs..
