Anonymous Sexual Recovery ( SRA ) is one of several 12-step programs for the treatment of sexual addiction based on the original Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. CFS takes its place among the various 12-step groups seeking recovery from sexual addiction: Sex Addicts Anonymous, Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, Anonymous Sexual Compulsual and Sexaholics Anonymous. The New York-based group met in several states. Collectively these groups are referred to as the "S" group because all of their acronyms start with that letter.

There is a related group called SRA-ANON for significant couples, relatives, friends, and other SRA members. The group is analogous to Al-Anon for members of the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) family.

The CFS was founded around 1993 and is said to be the "progressive branch" of Sexaholics Anonymous (SA) and is said to be "far more diverse" with the strong presence of women, African Americans, Asians, and members of the LGBT community. The CFS also differs from SA by allowing sexual intercourse between two people in a "committed relationship", while SA only allows heterosexual couples as acceptable pairs.
