Erika "Aya" Eiffel (nÃÆ' à © e Erika LaBrie ), is an American woman who famously "married" the Eiffel Tower in a commitment ceremony in 2007.

After undergoing military service in the US Air Force, Eiffel entered the US Air Force Academy in 1993. In his first year, he was sexually assaulted by another cadet, but thwarted the attack with a training sword. He was later dismissed from the Academy with a personality disorder. "I really feel that the only way for me to sleep is if I hold something, like my sword, because that's the only thing that protects me, and it gets worse," he said.

Career Archery
Eiffel began recording the recurve in 1999 in Japan, and started shooting an arrow bow year later. In 2003, he won first place shoots an arrow bow at both FITA and Olympic rounds in all three National Cup tournaments: the Arizona Cup, Texas Shootout, and the Gold Cup. After his sweep, he won gold and broke the FITA team's record with USA Team at the 42nd World Target Championship in New York City.
Eiffel, known as "Aya" in the archery world, has represented the US at the FITA World Field Championship with an Olympic recursive as well as the FITA Target Championship and the FITA World Cup with an arrow bow. He also competed at the IFAA Indoor Championships where he won gold in 2007 and set a world record single round in Mannheim, Germany at Freestyle Limited Recurve.
Aya was in the US National Archery Team 2004 and 2006 for the Compound Bow and also the 2009 National Senior Team for the Olympic Games.

He is the founder of OS Internationale, an organization for those who develop significant relationships with inanimate objects. He claims that his relationship with Lance, his competition arc, helped him become a world-class archer.
He first met the Eiffel Tower in 2004, and felt the immediate appeal. He told ABC News that he and others "[...] feel an inborn connection to the object, it's very normal for us to connect at different levels, emotionally, spiritually and physically to some people." In April 2009, on the second anniversary of her marriage to the Eiffel Tower, she appeared on Good Morning America and explained how her love objects empowered her. His twenty-year association with the Berlin Wall inspired the musical theater production of Erika's Wall.
In 2011, a Finnish journalist moved to Berlin for a year to write a book on the relationship of Eiffel objects and daily life. "Rautaiset rakastajat - death Erika Eiffelin maailmaan" ("Iron Lovers - My Journey to the World Erika Eiffel") was published in Finland in October 2012.
