Project Purple

Project Purple is a non profit foundation created by Chris Herren. The project was launched to help crush the scars of addiction, bringing awareness of how dangerous substance abuse is, and encouraging others to navigate life's challenges by making positive decisions. Project Purple begins with the inspiration that Herren obtained from a high school student he spoke to in 2011. Several students in the front row wore a purple shirt and after Herren shared his story, one of the students stood up and spoke. He said, "Thank you, Mr. Herren for validating what we are doing We are wise students from this high school and every year we promise not to use drugs or alcohol." After Herren hears this, he is captivated by how dashing this disciple stands and shares the symbolic meaning and meaning of the shirt. Herren is motivated and influenced by their courage, and it inspires him to spread this message to young people throughout the United States. The Purple Project's primary mission is to motivate and empower youth to stand up and make a difference.
