He was stopped and beaten by drug dealer Barksdale, after which he ended up in hospital.

Bubbles offers to inform the Barksdale gang for Detective Kima Greggs, to get some measure of retaliation for Johnny's beating. Bubbles' knowledge of the road proved invaluable to Lt. Cedric Daniels's unit as they investigated the Barksdale organization. He helps identify crew members who run Barksdale holes and those who work in high-rise towers. When Omar Little grabbed Barksdale's stash, Bubbles was present, and gave the number of van Omar's car plate to Greggs, which helped detail tracing the surviving man.

After nearly being killed while attempting to steal drugs, he tried to release the drugs, but returned to his old habit when Greggs was shot: he scratched the pages of Greggs after he promised to help him stay clean, unaware that he was hospitalized with life - Injuries threaten after a failed sting. When police search for suspect murder, Bubbles was mistaken as a suspect and brutally beaten by Vernon Holley until Jay Landsman and other officers arrested Holley, calling Jimmy McNulty to fix the problem.

Season two

McNulty recruited Bubbles to find Omar Little, whom Bunk needed as a witness in William Gant's murder. Bubbles reluctantly agrees, and in a nervous encounter with Omar carrying a shotgun, gives McNulty a message. Season three

Bubbles again helps the Main Crime Unit once again. Bubbles is a former fellow Squeak, girlfriend of Bernard, a runner assigned by the Barksdale gang to pick up their burner phone. Bubbles put them in touch with Lester Freamon in disguise, allowing units to sell pre-tapped burner phones directly to the gang. During this time, the ongoing cooperation of Bubbles with police began to create a rift between Bubbles and Johnny, which prompted Bubbles to end his career as an informer - eventually Bubbles left Johnny to fend for himself.

As the investigation progressed, Bubbles began to supplement his income as an informer by collecting mobile phones and disposable T-shirts for sale out of the shopping cart; after discovering the "Hamsterdam" zone of Major Howard's "Rabbit" Colvin, he expanded his inventory to meet the needs of dealers and addicts there. Consumed by guilt and sadness, Bubbles goes to the police and confesses his actions, before failing to try to commit suicide in the Murder Interrogation room. Eventually Bubbles came to terms with his role in the death of Sherrod and has his life story published in an article in Baltimore's . In the final scene of this series, she is seen being brought back into the life of her sister when she allows her to go upstairs from the crypt to have dinner with her and her son.
